FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We’ll continue to add FAQs here as we get questions. If you have any that are not answered here, please get in touch via social media (links at the bottom of this page), drop us an email (hello@vrxperience.uk) or give us a call (01452 34 51 53).

How can I book?

You can book online via our booking page, in-store with one of our team or give us a call on 01452 34 51 53.

What time should I arrive?

Arrive 10 minutes before your session is due to start. This will give us time to check you in and run through everything so you can make best use of your time.

Arriving late may mean you’ll lose some of your booked time. We’ll try and be as flexible as possible but if there are others booked in for the same activity after yours then your session will have to end on your pre-booked time as not to affect them.

Do I have to book in advance?

No but we do encourage you to do so. We do offer a walk-in booking service but it’s much easier and quicker if you do it online, enter in your own details and choose a time that suits you.

We can get very busy so we recommend you check availability and book online when possible, you can book sessions for the same day if they’re available. Walk-in sessions are subject to availability and there may be a wait. Book Online.

What is the refund policy?

Refunds for any money paid in advance of a booking will only be provided if cancelled and confirmed by the venue 24 hours before the booking is due to take place (48hrs for Group Bundles and Event bookings). Within the 24 hours and before the day of the booking a refund to a VRXP Gift Certicate will be issued. Within the same day no refund or changes can be made. All no-shows are non-refundable.

Booking fees are non-refundable. Refunds to a VRXP gift certificate to rebook at a later date will include the booking fee amount, these are valid for 30 days from the date of cancellation.

Can I book for more than one person?

Yes! You can hire more than one headset/racer/seat at the same time to be able to play at the same time. Most experiences are multiplayer where you get to see and interact with each other in the virtual world (see the experience pages on our website for more details).

Are stag and hen parties welcome?

This is a family friendly environment and we want everyone to enjoy VR.

As long as the party agrees to follow our Terms & Conditions we welcome everyone.

Please call in advance to book larger parties, we may not be able to support large groups at short notice.

There is no upper age limit and we encourage those of any age to give VR a try, there is something for everyone.

Is there an age restriction?

VR GAMING

Must be 8 years and above.

Younger children may not fit the headset/controllers comfortably and may unintentionally cause damage to the equipment. For those under the age of 10, we recommend a 30 minute session.

It is the parent/guardian who is hiring the VR Equipment and all games are provided for free as part of that session. We have placed the games into categories to help parent/guardians select appropriate games for children as titles are age rated just like films. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure children play games suited to their age. Speak with a member of the team if you would like us to confirm the age rating on titles and make suitable game recommendations.

All children must be supervised by a responsible parent/guardian at all times. All damages, how ever they are caused, must be paid for.

VR RACING

Suitable age: 8

Recommended age: 10

Younger children may not be able to reach the pedals or be able to comfortably use the racing machines and may unintentionally cause damage to the equipment. All damages must be paid for in full.

The steering wheels have force feedback, which may be too strong for young players.

You’ll also need to consider your child’s ability as the racing can frustrate some children who may not be able to control them successfully.

All children must be supervised by a responsible parent/guardian at all times.

All damages, how ever they are caused, must be paid for.

9D Motion Simulators

We recommend 5 years and above. Smaller heads may have to hold the headset to their face.

The Movie Pods have 30 different videos, there are some suitable for all ages (please ask for recommendations). Children as young as 5 have used them successfully, the seating is more secure with little chance of falling out.

All children must be supervised by a responsible parent/guardian at all times.

All damages to equipment, how ever they are caused, must be paid for.

No refunds will be given for children unable to use any of the equipment. Check before booking.

How many experiences are there on the 9D motion simulators?

9D VR MOVIE POD XPERIENCE = 30

Speak to a member of the team who can recommend an appropriate experience for you.

What do the 9D VR simulators do?

The 9D VR experiences move around, rocking you back and forth to the motion of the video you view in the VR headset.

Depending on the simulator and video, they will also have sound, wind, vibration, leg swiping and more.

The videos vary, from gentle rides through fantasy worlds, to roller-coasters and dragon attacks, there is something for everyone.

Are the VR games single-player or multi-player?

VR GAMING SESSIONS:

If you hire more than one headset/one player, you can choose from ~40 multiplayer games.

VR RACING:

Either choose to play on your own or bring up to 5 friends and challenge each other in networked multi-player races. Single racers can race on their own against A.I.

9D VR MOTION SIMULATORS:

The VR Slide is a solo ride, and the VR Pods has two seats so two can ride at the same time and see the same experience.

What is the VRXP Monthly Hotlap Competition?

Each month we set a certain car and track and throughout the month everyone who registers their details and races with that car/track combination will be entered into the competition. You should book a VR Racing Hotlapping session and let us know on arrival that you wish to do the challenge (times done in VR Race sessions do not count).

The top 10 fastest times will be displayed on our “Top Gear” leaderboard in the arcade.

At the end of the month the fastest racer on that track/car will receive a £50 VRXP Gift Certificate (valid for 2 months).

Winners will be contacted via the email address provided on their account.

If you would like to try the challenge, be sure to let a member of the team know so we can register your details into our system and track your times. To enter the competition you must provide us with a first and last name, along with a valid email address.

Only valid clean laps will be counted. VRXP reserved to the right to remove any lap times for any reason.

Can I buy a Gift Certificate?

Yes. Give the gift of VR with our Gift Certificate. You can choose your own amount. You can buy them in-store or digitally via our online booking page.

Gift Certificates are non-refundable once purchased.

Do I have to use the whole Gift Certificate at one time?

No. If you use a £20 certificate on a £15 experience, the remaining balance will still be on your unique number and can be entered again until the entire balance is used.

How can I use my Gift Certificate?

You can use them online via our booking portal or in the arcade. Just enter your unique code at checkout (at the payment screen, not in the voucher/coupon field) or show it to a member of the team in-store.

Can I wear my glasses?

We allow people to wear their glasses with our headsets. If at all possible we do recommend removing them or wearing contact lenses as it is more comfortable, especially on longer sessions.

If you have delicate glasses you may bend or damage them if they don't fit comfortably, VRXP and it's staff cannot be held responsible for any damage.

Our VR Gaming (including Escape Rooms), Racing and Roller-coasters all use different headsets so the fit will vary on our different activities.

VR Gaming, including Escape Rooms and multiplayer, all use the Valve Index Virtual Reality Headset. This is tighter around the eyes than our other headsets and may not allow large glasses to be worn. We do recommend removing glasses or using contact lenses on this experience.

Our VR Racing uses the DPVR E4 headset which is a little bit wider and most glasses are able to be worn. Very large frames may still be an issue.

Our VR 9D Roller-coasters use a different headset entirely and most are able to use their glasses without issues. Very large frames may still be an issue.

Please give us a call on 01452 345153 if you have any questions as refunds cannot be given on the day if the glasses do not fit.

Photosensitivity and Epilepsy

Some people experience nausea, disorientation, motion sickness, general discomfort, headaches or other health issues when experiencing virtual reality.

A very small percentage of people may experience a seizure when exposed to certain visual images, including flashing lights or patterns that may appear in video games. Even people who have no history of seizures or epilepsy may have an undiagnosed condition that can cause these “photosensitive epileptic seizures” while playing video games.

Parents should watch for or ask their children about the above symptoms. Children and teenagers are more likely than adults to experience these seizures. If you or any of your relatives have a history of seizures or epilepsy, consult a doctor before playing video games.

If you suffer from any medical conditions, you should discuss these with a trained health professional.
